Such a great value wine. Deliciously ripe fruit with flavours of prunes, a touch of herbiness and pepper spice, the tannins are smooth and supple and the finish is fresh - a characterful, well structured Merlot. Fresh and juicy - not the usual 'flabby and bland' Merlot you find at this price. Smooth, ripe and seriously good - this is a very easy and generous drink, sure to please the crowds. Try with steak in peppercorn sauce.

Ramsbury Gin is a rare thing, one of the few single estate gins made in the UK. Ramsbury believe that you can't make great gin without first making great vodka. Ramsbury Gin starts its journey on the estate as Horatio wheat. It is then distilled through their 43 plate copper still, creating a base spirit that gives the gin an incredibly smooth texture.  

Floral tones and crisp quince fades into more savoury juniper, with a refreshing finish and a touch of spice. Smoothness abounds and this single estate spirit sits at the sweeter end of London Dry Gin.

Proper white Côtes du Rhône; fresh, medium-bodied, vinous. The nose is pretty and delicate, with a
waft of fennel tops and hints of hedgerow flowers. The flavours are nuanced and refined rather than
overt. Careful use of oak adds texture and structure without masking the freshness of this very
drinkable white.

 From selected vineyards in the southern Rhône, Each parcel is picked separately in the cooler
early daylight hours for gentle pressing that same morning, and each is fermented at a low
temperature. To a base of Grenache Blanc, they blend Viognier along with co-fermented pairs of
Roussanne/Marsanne and Bourboulenc/Clairette. Over the years they have increased the proportion
vinified in stainless steel, with just under a third of the wine now vinified and matured for 6 months
French oak barrels (mostly 3rd fill but some new) to add complexity and creaminess.

Cult wine! Comprised of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Cinsault and even a little Viognier, the fruit is sourced from all over the Cape area with each vineyard selected for the best quality fruit. You are enticed into the glass with a complex bouquet of blackcurrants, raspberries and mocha… On the palate, the wine explodes with black fruits, exotic spices, violets and vanilla. Full bodied most certainly! But the weight and supple tannins are well integrated, making this a very drinkable, extremely crowd-pleasing wine. 

This really is the Holy Grail. The 'Meursault' wine at Bourgogne prices. We were honestly blown away by this and think you will be too.
Patrick Javillier makes Meursault, Volnay, and Puligny, owning land in each and on the peripheries between. The grapes for this cuvée are grown on the Volnay side of Meursault, and the vineyard quality shines through in the wine. Generous, sensuous, engaging. This wine is a true reflection of its terroir, where gravelly soils meet the influence of the nearby Atlantic Ocean. Here, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines thrive, producing grapes of remarkable depth and complexity. This classic Cru Bourgeois is a blend of 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon selected from the best grapes and oldest vines on the property. Aged for 12-18 months in oak, it is generously fruited with good structure, supple tannins, and a well-balanced finish.

This is bold, plush, rich and ripely fruited, and just hugs you like a bear. When Bordeaux becomes a little blasé, you go to Napa for some blue-sky thinking. You can literally taste those long, sunny California days when you drink a wine like this. Decant before serving. Often better the next day, if you have any left…

Xinisteri is a white grape native to Cyrus that has only recently come to find international acclaim. From Europe’s highest vineyards, this delicious example delivers juicy white peach and pineapple, balanced by racy acidity and herbal notes. Unoaked, mineral and fresh, the beautifully balanced palate leads to a mouth-watering finish. A unique and intriguing wine. Fabulous!

If you like some lovely oaky flavours in your Chardonnay then this is the wine for you. It is incredible value for money. Tast this blind and you may well be fooled into thinking this is a gorgeous white Burgundy at twice the price. The finish lasts for ever. Definetly worth a try. 

The family now own 52 acres including a hectare of Valmur Grand Cru. This is from a single vineyard 1er Cru vineyard. White gold with green tints, the nose reveals mint and pineapple. The palate is powerful yet restrained with fine acidity and a creamy texture.

Black cherry red with intense blackcurrant and typical green capsicum notes, that give way to hints of black pepper, tobacco leaf and chocolate. The palate presents medium body and very smooth, lush tannins. This wine is very easy to drink and stands out for its great balance and fresh finish.The wine was aged for 12 months, 40% in French oak barrels, 30% in American, and 30% in stainless steel tanks.

The Colchagua Valley stands in Chilé out for its Mediterranean climate with four well-defined seasons. The summers are hot and dry, which encourages proper ripening without interruptions. The valley ends at the Pacific Ocean, which has a positive effect on the vineyards because it cools the valley during the hot season.

Ideal with grilled or roasted meats, such as roast pork with wine and spice reduction, and pepper-crusted steak. Best served at 16º–17ºC in a Bordeaux-style glass.

Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Cabernet Franc, showing very ripe red fruit with some firm structure. Already drinking beautifully (and will for some time yet); and as ever a very superior Bordeaux Rouge - winner of a Gilbert & Gaillard gold medal 2018. We sold pallets and pallets of the 2016 vintage, but arguably the 2016 is even better: The cooler nights of 2018 brought a little more finesse to the reds - a trait that we much admire in Bordeaux. From the St Guilhem le Désert region in the sunny Val de Montferrand. Comprised of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Syrah, this wonderful southern French wine lives and breathes the Langueoc style. With a lush richness and an inviting character, some inclusion of whole-bunch Syrah adds a perfume and lightness to the palate. Medium-bodied and in no way overblown, there is a finesse and liveliness not often found in these grapes from this part of the world. Very 'alive' tasting. With 10 generations of organic winemaking under their belt, this family Chateau certainly know what they're doing!  ORGANIC.

Forget all the bad rep Soave has from those over-cropped wines of the 1980's - this is PROPER Soave. The perfect aperitif - vibrant, fresh and elegant, with notes of citrus, white flowers and blanched almonds. It's appeal lies in it's subtlety, rather than it's power. Think ballet dancer rather than rugby player! Utterly exquisite. Prepare to rediscover this northern Italian gem. 

An accomplished Chardonnay from northern Greece, that drinks more like Cru Burgundy! Perfumed aromas of melon, ripe pineapple and lemon combine with toasty butterscotch notes. Opulent and weighty, with a richly oaked texture, beautiful balance and spicy minerality on the finish. So, so good for the price - lovers of white Burgundy will be very happy here.

The vineyards of L'Enfant are owned and controlled by one family, and are located in the La Seca region of Rueda. Head-trained bush vines range in age from 35 to 55 years and are hand harvested.A dry, tasty and perfectly balanced wine. Bright and mouthwatering, typical of the Verdejo grape, but it is also rounded with plush volume. Falling somewhere between a Sancerre and a Chablis stylistically, but with more (very appealing) leesy character that brings a savoury, lactic weight. Superb concentration whislt retaining a lightness of foot. Moreish!Pairs well with rice dishes, white meat and fish.

Not just another pretty pink rosé, this is Pinot Noir rosé with substance; delicate and dry but with enough substance to keep coming back, glass after glass. Sit back, dig your toes into the sand and forget about life for a while... Pair with fresh seafood and light salads, preferably enjoyed sitting under an umbrella in the sun, overlooking the Mediterranean. But a sunny terrace will do the trick too...

Bright peach, pear and lemon flavours are supported by an elegant flinty backbone and just a touch of spice in this pure and charming Austrian white, made with minimal intervention and employing biodynamic methods at a small family winery. So clean, precise and rivetting. A new favourite.

Our house favourite for a traditional, great value gin. The new incarnation of Hawthorn's London Dry Gin still pays homage to the creator's seafaring grandfather, a commander in the British Navy during the war, and also still features botanicals sourced from all over the world, including juniper from Macedonia, nutmeg from Sri Lanka and cassia bark from Indonesia.

The brand revamped its core expression to increase the strength. Previously bottled at 37.5% ABV, now at 41% ABV which, in our opinion, makes that zestiness shine.

There's Greek wine and there's Greek wine... This is not the stuff of beachside Tavernas but comes from one of the most modern and accomplished winemakers in Greece. Whether you are a Viognier fan or not, this is a must-try; silken, rich and supple, beautifully fruited and just packed with complexity and finesse. A shop favourite.

The lesser-known white grape of Burgundy, Aligote is a hidden gem that performs very similarly to Chardonnay in the glass, with rounded nutty tones, creamy notes and a fresh acidity. As classic Burgundy gets more expensive, Aligote offers brilliant value for money from the same terroirs. And terroir is what Burgundy is all about.

An easy blend of Gargenaga and Chardonnay from the shores of lake Garda. Easy drinking and perfect for parties.

Aromas are reminiscent of ripe black fruits such as blackberries, ripe cherries and plums, with floral hints such as violets blended with spicy notes, vanilla and chocolate driven by the oaked toasty bouquet. It is full-bodied, with sweet tannins and a velvety texture in the mouth that finishes long and smooth.

This complex and elegant Malbec spends 18 months in French oak barrels. Drinking well now but can easily age for 15+ years. Only on it's second vintage, this wine is already recieving accolaides such as 92pts from Tim Atkin MW and is rated among the top 4% highest rated wines in the world on Vivino.

From a truly local and truly EXCELLENT vineyard, comes this Champagne Method Sparkling wine.

The soil at WW is ideal for sparkling wine.  Vines are planted on free-draining loam over flint and chalk on gentle southeast slopes.  Made by Emma Rice and Jacob Leadley, winemakers at Hattingley Valley, near Winchester.  Emma has been UK wine maker of the year twice.

GRENACHE NOIR 70%, CINSAULT 30% The grapes are sourced from vineyards cultivated near to Lake Thau, set in a formerly volcanic region just inland from the sea. This has a particular micro-climate – as the proximity of the water has a moderating affect on the typically Mediterranean temperatures, allowing optimal ripening whilst retaining fresh acidity. The grapes are harvested in the early morning, then the wine is vinified as a classic rosé de presse, with soft pressing and cold fermentation.

A blend of two grapes native to Macedonia and rarely seen outside of the country. Complex and inviting aromas of bramble, damson plum, and wild cherry combine with subtle hints of vanilla and toasty, savoury notes. Beautifully textured with a mouth-filling palate of ripe fruits against a mineral backdrop leading to a long-lasting finish. A truly stunning wine at this price. Decanter's Platinum Award winner 2018.

Gold medal winning Malbec from the fantastic Los Haroldos winery in Mendoza, Argentina. Deep, rich and unctuous. Layers of Chocolate, mocha, and dark berry fruit, with a touch of tobacco and sweet spice. Something a little bit special here - not your supermarket Malbec. Barrel aged for 11 months and super satisfying.

This Pinot Noir with garnet-colored juice is perfumed with fine spices (nutmeg and cinnamon), mocha, and Montmorency cherry.  Its texture finds its balance in a generous flavor that is felt in a velvety tannin highlighting the finesse of the grape variety.

The vineyards is full of Turitelles fossils, these marine sediments are carried by a limestone and clay base, forming sloping plateaus in the landscape, on which the vineyard is located. This terroir in the foothills of the Pyrenees is known for the quality of its hillsides and its sunny and cool microclimate.

Taste a piece of history! Revived by the great-great-grandson of the original James eadie, this blend brings together the single malts of the range into a wonderfully full and expressive whisky that surpasses the sum of its parts. Regular award winner.

Nose: Raisins drizzled with spiced rum and Sherry, a hint of grassy peat, oily walnut.

Palate: Mexican chocolate, ripe red berries, brown sugar, another waft of soft peat smoke.

Finish: Juicy apricot and pear notes last on the finish.

 Grapes are sourced from the Lugana and Peschiera del Garda areas (north-west of Verona). The grapes
are softly pressed with a short maceration on the skins and fermented at a low temperature in stainless
steel tanks. The wine rest for a few months in stainless steel before being bottled. A subtle and restrained white with delicate stone fruit and lightly nutty aromas. The palate is textural
with more nutty characters and good concentration, all beautifully balanced by peachy fruit, a dash of
lime, and taut acidity on the finish.

This exceptional Pinot Nero is produced in tiny quantities from Cavit's very best vineyards. A very fine example of the grape by any standards. Grown on the south-west and south-east facing slopes around Povo; a mixture of glacial limestone and volcanic soils. Hand-harvested in mid-September. The must is fermented in contact with the skins for 10 days, and matured for 20 months in 225 litre French oak barriques. The wine spends around 10 months in bottle before release.

The importance of wines such as Meerlust Rubicon should not be overlooked as milestones in the developing history of South African wine. First made in 1980, it essentially set the pattern for Bordeaux blends in the country.

Like the best Bordeaux wines, the 2018, certainly has ageing potential. However, it is drinking so beautifully now that I suspect people will struggle to stop themselves opening it. The tannins are present, but supple and plump, and backed with a certain freshness of acidity as a counterpoint to its nicely ripe black fruit. It is lip-smacking and moreish.

Slow ripening in the vintage meant uneven ripeness in the Cabernet Sauvignon while Merlot apparently shone. Consequently, the 49% Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend is the lowest in Rubicon history, with 28% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot making up the remainder. In addition, extraction during fermentation was deliberately gentle with the Cabernet, reflected in the supple tannic structure.

The wine spent 16 months in 55% new oak barrels, with the oak giving cedar and some incense-like spice notes which worked in harmony with tobacco-leaf aromas that are most likely from the Cabernet Franc component. Satisfying and rewarding. A wine to bring a smile to ones face.

Distilled with nine botanicals, Cotswolds Dry Gin is a London Dry with an aromatic twist. Juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, local lavender, bay leaf, hand-peeled fresh lime and pink grapefruit zest, cardamom and black peppercorn are distilled in a copper pot still, resulting in a rich and robust, award-winning gin.

Cotswolds Distillery does not remove the essential oils in their gin as these create a rich flavour and mouthfeel. As a result, the gin forms a unique pearlescent cloud when ice or tonic is added, and it tastes delicious!

Special Cuvée is the result of a masterful blending using a majority of Reserve wines, including some aged for more than 15 years in Bollinger’s cellars. In 1911, Bollinger’s British agent gave the idea for the name Special Cuvée - “special” written the English way, without an accent. He thought the French expression “Brut sans année” was no match for such a subtle champagne… More than a hundred years later, the name of Bollinger’s key figure champagne still symbolizes both its expertise and its history. A golden colour with a beautifully fine mousse. The nose is aromatic and complex with ripe fruit and spicy aromas. Roasted apples, apple compote and peaches burst on the palate. Brioche and notes of fresh walnut linger on the lasting finish. A subtle combination of structure, length and vivacity.

 La Foule Pinot Noir comes from selected vineyards in the Languedoc region of southern France. It is a wonderful wine with lovely aromas of violet and red fruits and a velvety palate with a long and supple vanilla finish due to a proportion of the blend being matured with French oak.

Attractive, juicy, bramble fruit and floral aromas, the palate is up-front and fresh with warm spice and real depth.

Lovely with BBQs; grilled meats, halloumi and vegetables. Herby sausages, pasta with Mediterranean vegetables.

Coterie – a small group with shared tastes or interests - and a group we enjoy being part of with wines of this quality! Wildeberg’s rationale is to source the finest vineyards available across Franschhoek and the Coastal Region. These cuvees are selected to go into Coterie by Wildeberg.

Quite a grown-up wine, this is a textural, gently muscular expression of Cabernet Franc with Malbec. A Loire-inspired combination that was new in this South African model, but certainly a wonderful discovery. One wonders why it isn't being done elsewhere, but perhaps this special terroir plays as much a part. Rich, deep, and plummy from the Malbec, with fresh, herbaceous character supplied by the Cab Franc. Barrel fermented for 20 months. Great with grilled meats, especially lamb and spiced meat dishes.

A tight, minerally wine with classic Hamilton Russell Vineyards length and complexity. Unusually prominent pear and lime fruit aromas and flavours are brought beautifully into focus by a tight line of bright natural acid and a long, dry minerality. An elegant, yet textured and intense wine with a strong personality of both place and vintage.

Biodynamically farmed and 100% organic. A delicious blend of Sauvignon Blanc 57%, Chenin Blanc 39%, Semillon 4%. The Sauvignon Blanc aromas are prominent on the nose, with beautiful lime and prickly pear notes. Intense flavours, with great balance. A tight mineral core and creamy mid palate from the Chenin Blanc allows for great complexity and a persistent finish. The Sauvignon Blanc lends lovely, fresh acidity to the wine. The wine is made as naturally as possible with no added acids or enzymes. Quite frankly this is really outstanding value for a wine from low yieding vines, hand picked and transported to vinification on pack horses!

''We work with nine carefully chosen ingredients, each lending their own individual characteristics, and all sourced with our usual attention to detail.

Sugar Kelp plays the starring role, bringing a complex, maritime edge to proceedings and we work with local diver and seaweed expert Lewis Mackenzie to gather this magical seaweed from our local sea-lochs in a sustainable harvest.

Lewis picks the gold-green fronds from hidden underwater forests by hand in the springtime before taking them to be dried locally.

When there is no 'r' in the month, the kelp is left to recover and grow, ensuring this vital local habitat for sealife is not harmed.''

HOW ITS MADE

''We make every drop of our award-winning Isle of Harris Gin here in the small village of Tarbert.

Our local distillers create this first offering from our island distillery in a small copper gin still which sits alongside her larger whisky-making sisters in the distillery's bright Spirit Hall.

We've nicknamed our gin still 'The Dotach' in honour of a similarly small and feisty local woman who is fondly remembered here in Harris from days gone by.

We use Sugar Kelp seaweed, gathered sustainably by hand from local sea-lochs, as our key botanical to express our island's unique maritime nature.

The spirit is softened by the fresh, low-mineral rainwaters which flow from the nearby source stream of Abhainn Cnoc a ’Charrain.

We bottle Isle of Harris Gin by hand here at the distillery too, before applying the labels and closing each one with a natural cork and wood stopper.

Finally, we apply a paper seal bearing our distillery's geographical coordinates to every single bottle by hand, your guarantee of a truly Outer Hebridean gin, made in the Isle of Harris and nowhere else.''

Intense ruby colour, violet notes. Lightly tannic, full and persistent aroma. Well balanced and easily drinkable.

Sambuca di Sicilia is an area which has produced fabulous grapes for centuries and Cantine Cellaro's wines are an incomparable expression for this historical area of vines.

Great with red meat, barbecued and grilled meat, excellent with first courses, game birds and seasoned cheese. Try it with eggplant Caponata or braised cauliflower 'Vrocculi Affucati'.

Kreuth is pale straw-colored with brilliant highlights, showing aromas of tropical fruits and minerals. It is a full-bodied, perfectly balanced wine that offers flavors of rich pear and apple nectar. Ideal with seafood, poultry or appetizers.

The Kreuth vineyard, where yields are strictly limited, is located at an altitude of 1,000 feet, rooted in volcanic soil. After a temperature-controlled fermentation in oak barrels this age-worthy wine is matured for 12 months in large oak casks, with 20% of the wine resting in barriques. The result is a wine of exceptional quality and poise that will evolve for many years in bottle. 13.5% abv

With its funky, wonky bottle, this is instantly eye-catching, but this wine is no novelty! Made from the Nebbiolo grape - of greater fame in Barolo - but making no less of a wine here. And easier to approach in early years. Aromas of eucalyptus, exotic spice, underbrush and aromatic herb lead the nose. The tightly knit palate offers cranberry, dried cherry, star anise and clove set against taut, close-grained tannins. Winner of the GamberoRosso Italian wine award for the region. An off-piste but truly rewarding wine from Piedmont. Bolognese anyone?

Amoterra means to ‘love the land’. Organic Italian wines of typicity and value, making sustainable produce more accessible. Bright and expressive floral aromas follow through on the palate which is concentrated and vibrant with juicy apricot, green apple and pear fruit, and mineral notes. Lovely as an aperitif or white meats and fish.

Russolo Doi Raps is a white wine of rare elegance and freshness, a blend of Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc from the high quality region of Fruili-Venezia-Giulia. The nose reveals warm and intense aromas that immediately bring to mind ripe fruits and roses, remeniscent of Gewurztraminer. In the mouth it is pleasantly soft, round, well supported by an excellent acidic shoulder and overall elegance. Closes with a nice return on the fruit before a final clean and excellent persistence. Soft and enveloping, it is a wine to pair with first courses based on shellfish, such as linguine with lobster. Also excellent as an aperitif or with Asian cuisine.

Made from 100% Grand Cru & Premier Cru, Ayala Blanc de Blancs fully expresses the superb calibre of great Chardonnay from the best crus of the Côte des Blancs. It  is produced in small quantities, and only in exceptional years and benefits from 5 years ageing in the cellars which helps intergrate the remarkable minerality and complex flavours. Produced from the Grand Crus; Cramant, Chouilly and Le Mesnil-Sur-Oger, and also Premier Crus; Cuis and Vertus.

Tasting Note: Bright, pale yellow with white gold glints A delicate but expressive nose, showing wonderful aromatic freshness with notes of white fruits and lime. A striking voluptuous and vibrant silky texture on the palate. Passion fruits, citrus fruit, peaches and subtle notes of acacia honey. Voluminous, toasty, and extremely refined. 

A much overlooked category, Manzanilla sherry has so much to offer and is the perfect aperitif. Totally bone dry, with its distinctive savoury character of green olive, salted almonds, seaside freshness and tang; in fact, the perfect partner to all those things, whether or not you have a beachside seat.

Ayala's zero-dosage Champagne. A lean, fresh, taut-yet-supple Champagne, given texture and body from extended lees ageing. Apple fresh, with pleasing preserved lemon and brioche notes. Delicious and ultimately refreshing. Perfect with oysters and sushi. Or fish and chips!

 Introducing the newest addition to their bottle range: Ramsbury Low Alcohol – 100% taste with only 0.8% ABV.

It took them some time to perfect our low-alcohol ale because they wanted to get it just right.  A great-tasting and flavorful low-ABV option.

0.8 is a light and refreshing pale ale, bursting with flavor. It boasts a citrus profile and aroma, delicately balanced with Azacca hops, giving it a fruity finish with hints of juicy mango.

Vineyards are in the Hautes Côtes, at the top of the slopes just above Domaine de la Motte's Chablis classified plots and so achieve good ripeness. The soil is Portlandian, which is less chalky than Kimmeridgian, and typically produces wines which are less mineral and more fruity, well suited to earlier drinking. Having said that, Motte’s wine has real finesse with good fruit character – very much their house style. Cool-fermented in stainless steel, malolactic fermentation is also in stainless steel and the wine is unoaked.

Fairly restrained on the nose, savoury herbs and citrus on the palate. Well balanced with a suggestion of "hot stone" minerality. Old school, lean, and steely.
