From these legendary winemakers who broke the rules in Tuscany, Guidalberto has great energy and length with an aroma of dark fruits and spices with nuances of violets, roses and a hint of tobacco. Smooth textures and deep plum fruits combine with a crunchy redcurrant character and a hint of dark chocolate to create a wonderfully balanced wine with excellent definition. Plenty enough going on to improve for another decade in bottle.

Marques de Murrieta
Marques de Murrieta Reserva 2014

This wine is a coupage of Tempranillo, Garnacha tinta, Mazuelo and Graciano varieties grown in Finca Ygay that can be found between 320 meters to 485 metres above sea level. Thanks to the location of the estate, close to Sierra de Cantabria, the temperatures are very mild and the mountain is a barrier for the cold winds from the north. The resultant wine is a mix of classicism and modernity, with rich sweet oak notes balancing bright blackberry and plum fruits and baking spices. Just delicious.
Adobe Reserva Gewurztraminer ORGANIC
A dry Gewurztraminer from Chile's Rapel Valley. Dry yet rounded, with lychee and green pear notes over jasmine and ginger aromas. Mandarin orange and ripe grapefruit on the palate make for good complexity and depth. A great partner to Asian cuisine such as Crispy Aromatic Duck or Thai Green Curry.
Most of the wine from this region is red, but this lively blend shows that the whites are up to the mark as well. It has complex aromatic aromas of fresh herbs, peach and honeydew melon lead onto a juicy and layered palate. Well balanced with good fruit intensity - quite a bit of wine for the money here. An ideal aperitif, also good with seafood and pasta.

Rapaura Sauvignon Blanc
From prisitne vineyards in Marlborough. Full-flavoured and exceptionally pure with sweet, juicy tropical flavours and succulent passionfruit, a lively whack of zesty citrus and freshly squeezed lime makes the finish luscious, dry and refreshing. A definite notch up from the 'supermarket Sauvignon' we've grown used to.

Louis Roederer Brut Premier NV
Bollinger Grande Annee Vintage 2007
Taittinger Brut Reserve
Chapeau Melon Rouge
A summery blend of Gamay and Pinot noir, comparable to a great Beaujolais Villages, but without any of the ‘bubblegum’ notes those wines sometimes suggest. Fresh like the seaside, unctuous and juicy, with elegance and depth by the bucket-and-spade full.
Chapeau Melon Blanc
Sumptuous and refreshing and absolutely en-pointe for the coming months (cue; sunshine). Made from traditional Muscadet grape of Melon de Bougogne, showing that trademark touch of salinity we know and love, enlivened with a touch of Sauvignon blanc for added ‘lift’ and aromatic quality.
Pasquiers Grenache Cinsault Rose
Grenache and Cinsault blend from the sunny Pays D'Oc. Fruit-forward and rounded, with suprising texture and concentration for a rose at tthis pricepoint. We worked hard to find it! Strawberry and spice, with a lengthy finish. A great aperetif, but equally good for sunny lunches.
Gouverneurs Reserve Blend
Ripe rich flavours of blackcurrant with hints of chocolate mint and green pepper enveloped in a restrained elegant style. An iconic Bordeauxblendfrom this historic producer.
Rousanne, Grenache blanc, Chenin, Chardonnay. A perfecct harmony of northern and southern French varietals that capture the diversity of this region. Supple and complex, perfumed yet delicate. Punches well above it's price point.
Herencia Altes Garnatxa Blanca Case of 6
This is a really beautifully made wine. What struct me most was the lovely balance between a full and rounded structure and yet retaining all important vibrant acidity. Very aromatic with flavours of melon and white fruits. Perfect aperitif or wonderful with tapas, fish, and grilled chicken.
From Puglia, in southern Italy this is fruit-driven and delicate, yet well-structured and beautifully nuanced, with bramble and forest-like aromas. So fresh, and very ‘alive’ on the palate.
Julien Brocard 'Les Plantes' Petit Chablis ORGANIC
Organic and Biodynamic, this well outstrips its Petit Chablis status. With fruit that is almost tropical in nature, the generosity of this wine is astounding. Opulent and deep, yet bright and dynamic in its acidity.
Savia Viva Classico Blanco
Sea air, lemon groves, fresh nectarines and green pear... You could be strolling through a market in Barcelona! That’s what this wine conjures up to us; the freshness of the seaside with the warmth of Mediterranean fruits. Made from traditional Cava grapes (Macabeo, Xarello and Parraleda) in vineyards in the hills behind Barcelona, this textured and refreshing wine keeps you coming back for more.. And at 11.5% you kinda can!
I can vividly remember the first time I tasted this. Mercurey is at the southern end of Burgundy, over an hours drive due south from Beaune, and it gets warmer and the grapes riper. As such the Chardonnay is wonderfully rich, ripe, and powerful, but due to Faiveley prowess nothing is allowed to go to extremes. They have managed to harness the power with soft oak ageing to produce a really single vineyard masterpiece. Treat yourself!
Domaine Faiveley Mercurey Rouge La Framboisiere Monopole
Are you prepared to treat yourself? The clue is in the name. There really are strong hints of wild strawberry and summer fruits in this stunning single vineyard gem from southern Burgundy. If you are looking to make an impression and create wonderful memories - this is your wine. I love it!
Dom Faiveley Bourgogne Chardonnay Joseph Faiveley
This was a genuine surprise, and in a really good way. Generic Bourgogne Blanc can be limp, acidic and a disappointment. This is bursting with ripe tropical fruits, and hints of delicate wild white flowers. A stunner for under £20
Lismore Reserve Chardonnay Greyton
Californian Samanatha O'Keefe is really blazing a trail in the mountains above False Bay. Aged in some new as well as some old oak barrells, this wine is a poised and balanced as a ballerina, and equally supple, agile and lithe. I refuse to make the old comparisons to wines of the old world, because this could well be better. Yes, and guaranteed special corks guarantee zero corked bottles, mean that careful cellaring for up to 25 years will result in incomprable results. I would rather you drink this, but investors will also be rewarded.
Louis Latour Grand Ardeche Chardonnay
We try and avoid the mainstream brands but hats off to this one. Fantastic value for money. Louis Latour have transferrred their burgundian skills further south to the warmer Ardeche and created a really stunning wine. Just try it!
Silvano Barolo Bussia Vigna Dei Fantini
Proper Barolo, from a single vineyard in one of the best communes in the region. Nerello mascalese from Mt Etna. Burgundy-esque, with added volcanicity! Stunning complexity and length. We love this wine.
Chateau de Citeaux
Intense floral notes and generous fruit aromas combine with hints of almond, spice and a linear minerality. This sunny vintage has produced a rich and concentrated style of wine, with intense apple fruit supported by a full bodied palate and a long finish. The wine is matured in the family cellars, spending 12 months in oak barrels. The use of oak is carefully monitored to ensure a pure expression of Auxey-Duresses terroir was captured. Primitivo, Zinfandel, Kratosija.. Same grape, different names. This grape actualy originates from eastern Europe, where it is now seeing a revival. This fantatstic example really delivers on flavour and character; intense red and black fruits, moderate tannins and a soft yet full body. Works eqaully well fireside or lightly chilled. One of our favourites in this price catergory.
