Nuovo Quadro Gavi di Gavi
A fine, single estate Gavi di Gavi from a 5 hectare plot on the La Battistina estate - textured and complex whilst retaining bright acidity. Pear and quince are balanced by notes of blanched almond and bay leaf. A very enjoyable wine of excellent quality.
Herencia Altes take as much trouble making their entry level wines as they do their top cuvee's, and it really shows in the wonderful red wine. Rich and textured with deep layers of dark red fruits and a wionderfull long finish, this is a stunning allrounder that can be drunk on its own or with grilled meats and anything from a Sunday roast to bangers and mash!

Kilikanoon Prodigal Grenache, Clare Valley
2012. Made from a blend of two, sixty year old, single Grenache vineyards from the Watervale sub region of the Clare Valley, South Australia. Prodigal Grenache is aged for twenty months in older third and fourth fill French oak hogsheads and bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve the variety’s unique character and charm. Heady garden notes on the nose with dark chocolate, cherry plums and lightly toasted French oak. The palate is a swirling melting pot of cocoa, cherry plum and spicey oak char which seamlessly combine with a fine natural acidity and silky tannins.
The one and only. Needs no introduction - this is just the epitome of Provene rosé. A wine to impress, and be impressed by.
Chateau Mazetier Bordeaux Rouge
Summertime Claret! This lovely Bordeaux blend strikes the perfect balance for a summer red; fresh blackcurrant, berries and red plum, with a leafiness and perfume that brings brightness to the palate. Medium body and light tannin. A touch of cedar and spice from time in bottle gives depth and leads to impressive length on the finish. An easy food pair to meats, cheeses and flavourful vegetable dishes.
The Chocolate Block
Cult wine! Comprised of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Cinsault and even a little Viognier, the fruit is sourced from all over the Cape area with each vineyard selected for the best quality fruit. You are enticed into the glass with a complex bouquet of blackcurrants, raspberries and mocha… On the palate, the wine explodes with black fruits, exotic spices, violets and vanilla. Full bodied most certainly! But the weight and supple tannins are well integrated, making this a very drinkable, extremely crowd-pleasing wine.
