Duc de Morny
L'Ormarine Duc de Morny Picpoul de Pinet
Gently perfumed, ripe melon fruit on the nose. The palate is ripe but retains excellent freshness, balanced by a touch of white pepper spice that is very typical of its grape variety. Deliciously long, the finish shows bright fruit and a clean, saline/mineral edge.
Picpoul vines grow just inland from the Étang de Thau, home to southern Languedoc's famous oyster and mussel beds. Along the coast you'll find cabins where locals gather to feast on mussels or 'huitres braisees' (oysters cooked over a fire pit) which are perfect with a glass of Picpoul de Pinet.
Grenache and Cinsault blend from the sunny Pays d'Oc. Fruit-forward and rounded, with surprising texture and concentration for a rose at this price point. We worked hard to find it! Strawberry and spice, with a lengthy finish. A great aperitif, but equally good for sunny lunches.
Percheron Chenin-Viognier White, Western Cape
One of our best selling white wines, with no surprise. Old vine Chenin imparts crisp apple acidity and vibrancy to the blend, whilst the Viognier brings texture, balance and deep ripe tropical fruits. South Africa is producing some great wines right now, and this is amazing value.
Uggiano Chianti Roccialta
Really easy drinking Chianti, without compromising on character. A splash of Merlot softens out the young Sangiovese, making it a perfect weeknight wine for pizza and pasta dishes. Cracking stuff and great value.
Percheron Shiraz Mouverdre, Western Cape
Percheron is a French breed of workhorse, and this is our "workhorse" red. It is a real stalwart and hugely popular. Medium bodied, full of red fruit flavours and oh so clean on the palate. Tremendous value.
False Bay Vineyards
False Bay "Whole Bunch"Cinsault Mourvedre Rose
Whole bunch Cinsault/Mouvedre Rose from South Africa's Coastal Region. Very French in style, showing great balance of spicy aromatic fruit and a lovely creamy texture. A steal at this price.
From vineyards at the foothills of the Andean mountains, cooler temperatures allow for slower, longer ripening in the grapes. Take the same time to enjoy the elegance, fruit, and classic ripe cherry and chocolate flavours of this affordable yet fabulous Malbec! Unoaked and juicy.
