Amazingly fresh nose, with aromas that bring to mind a cosy pub in winter. Smooth and easy drinking and showing impressive length. A touch of ‘bittersweet’ on the palate with liquorice and smoky notes balancing a rustic bramble-fruit profile. Despite these 'weighty' descriptors, the wine retains a lightness of touch and works just as well at cellar temperature as it does fireside. Three months in oak gives a rounded palate and balance. Great to pair with smoked ham or bacon, game, hearty soups and stews.
