Tequila Calle 23 Blanco 40% 100% Agave
Calle 23 is the brainchild of Sophie Decobecq, a French born biochemist and engineer. Sophie has been living in Mexico for the past 15 years and her love for agave and Tequila never stops growing. It all began in 1999 when Sophie moved to Mexico, where step by step she started to enter the world of Tequila.
It was in 2003 when she started working on her very own project, which would later become Calle 23. Calle 23 Tequila is produced in San Pancho from agaves from the Highland region of Jalisco (fields between Arandas and Tepatitlan). The Highlands region grows plants that produce the perfect tequila tasting profile that Calle 23 wanted to achieve - fruity, round and spicy.
"Rich, ripe agave on the nose with notes of spearmint. Apples and pears on the palate with herbaceous overtones".
Awards: 2014 New York International Spirits Competition - Bronze 2009: San Francisco World Spirits Competition - Bronze
Taste a piece of history! Revived by the great-great-grandson of the original James Eadie, this blend brings together the single malts of the range into a wonderfully full and expressive whisky that surpasses the sum of its parts. Regular award winner.
Nose: Raisins drizzled with spiced rum and Sherry, a hint of grassy peat, oily walnut.
Palate: Mexican chocolate, ripe red berries, brown sugar, another waft of soft peat smoke.
Finish: Juicy apricot and pear notes last on the finish.
Benromach 10 YO 100% Proof
Benromach 10 year old bottled at a significantly higher strength - 100° Proof (more commonly known as 57% ABV these days). Intense and flavourful, with a good whack of smoke and Sherried malt at its core, this ought to be an excellent choice for winter evenings. Dark chocolate with vanilla cream at its core. Dates, banana and peat smoke creeping in. Dark fruits and smoky embers. Oaky hints on the mid-palate give it yet more character and smoke persists on the long finish.
The English Whisky Company
The Norfolk PX
English Single-Malt Whisky, blended with Pedro Ximenez Sherry, creates a delicious and moresish tipple. The woody aromatic notes of the whisky are mellowed by rum & raisin sweetness of the sherry. Soft and sweet, with flavours that will perfectly compliment a mince pie and dollop of cream! Delicious.
Kaiyo Original Mizunara Oak, Japanese Whisky
Kaiyo's stock of Mizunara oak casks is its pride and joy. Known to impart a subtle and unusual collection of aromas and flavours to whisky during maturation, it's this wood which is often credited with setting Japanese whisky apart. Kaiyo doubles down on its cask maturation, sending the full casks off to sea for months at a time, allowing the natural motion to ensure constant movement, and thus contact between whisky and wood. Delicate, wheaten nose, with vanilla, ripe dried fruit and hints of cherry. Spicy and oaky on the palate, with dried orange and burnt caramel and a long, lingering finish. Utterly sublime.
Hendricks Midsummer Solstice Gin
A refreshing take on the classic Hendrick’s Gin, this gin is a tribute to the Midsummer Solstice. Using a secret selection of flowers, Hendrick’s have created a gin with an intensely floral bouquet that blossoms on the palate. The nose has notes of juniper mingling with delicate floral aromas, orange blossoms and zesty lemon notes. The palate offers notes of summer flowers that complement the classic juniper, spice and rose petal notes of Hendrick’s gin.
Foxdenton Sloe Gin
A delicious sloe gin from Foxdenton. This is no sweet liqueur, this is a real, dry gin which is destined for neat sipping, or cocktails. It is only gently sweetened with sugar, and is made with Foxdenton's wonderful London Dry Gin.
