Terlaner Kreuth - knock-out Chardonnay from Alto Adige, the most northerly wine region in Italy. Steely, clean citrus notes lead to toasted brioche and apricot, ending with fresh cut pineapple and white fruits. Persistent and moreish.
Faiveley Bourgogne Chardonnay - sourced from villages-level vineyards in the Cote d'Or this is exceptional value - a rare thing in Burgundy - and shows the rising quality of 'Bourgogne' level wines from thr region. Faiveley retain their high repute for good reason.
Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, NZ - from some of Marlborough's oldest vines. Pristine, aromatic, utterly refreshing. Cut grass and kiwi, guava and lime zest.
Benufet Garnacha Blanca, Terra Alta - An off the beaten track wine from the hinterland around Barcelona. This won the best garnacha blanca for this region. Unoaked but rich and layered, with complex floral and stone-fruit nuances. Muy bien!
Bernard Fouquet Cuvée de Silex Vouvray - the most legendary of the Loire Valley Chenins, this just off-dry offering is complex and honeyed, with unmistakable Chenin blanc 'zip' and nerve. Intense and mouthwatering; perfect with roast chicken.
Stockwerk Gruner Weltliner, Austria, Organic - bright stone fruits and citrus with just a touch of spice in this wonderfully linear and precise white wine from Austria. A flinty backbone gives structure and leaves you wanting more.
