CHRISTMAS ESSENTIALS Box
Everything you need for Christmas at home - Fizz, Port, and wines that will taste SUPERB with Christmas Lunch and Boxing Day fare.
This collection celebrates great wines and great value combined - beacuse Christmas can be expensive enough! Not scrimping on enjoyment though; everything in here as a customer favourite. And SAVE on the cost of buying separately.
Contains six wines, as below.
Langlois Cremant de Loire Brut - Cremant is essentially a 'Champagne' from a different region from France; same methods, same grapes, and same classy, elegant flavours. Bollinger own Langlois, so they know a thing or two about great bubbles! Everything you want from Champagne can be found here.
Ramos Pinto LBV Port 2016 - A single vintage ruby port from one of the oldest houses in Porto. Rich and sweet and chock-full of luscious flavours of black fruits, toasted walnuts and sweet spices. This is the real deal. And Christmas just isn't Christmas without a little snifter of Port.
Jean Paul Brun Beaujolais Blanc - If you're usually a Macon fan, you're in for a treat. 100% unoaked Chardonnay from top sites in the Maconnais. Dry and elegant, with lovely intense ripe fruit with citrus flavours. Pure, juicy and succulent. Real class and Beaujolais like you've never tried before. Perfect with roast turkey and all the trimmings, but seriously works with everything!
Chateau La Gorce 2012 Medoc Cru Bourgeois - What a fabulous Bordeaux this is. Now in the middle of it's drinking window, it shows wonderful balance between blackcurrant, cedar and graphite tones, with tertiary notes of leather and tobacco coming to the fore. Decant fully to allow the myriad flavours to unfold. The centrepiece wine for Christmas Day.
Georges Lignier Bourgogne Passestoutgrains - The one to refresh the palate! Bright and juicy unoaked Pinot noir & Gamay from Burgundy. This beautifully lithe and nuanced wine be a welcome 'cut' through the richness of Christmas day food. A welcome breath of fresh air. Great with hams, cheeses and anytime refreshment is needed!
L'Ancienne Monbazillac Jour du Fruit (35cl) - Monbazillac is oft overlooked in the favour of Sauternes, but this is a mistake! Much more appealing in youth than Sauternes, it delivers the same beautiful flavours of marmalade, dried apricot and waxy-honeyed notes but at a snip of the price. Ideal with Boxing Day trifle, or the Cheese Board.
