The family behind Villa Le Corti, the Corsini Family, has an amazing history as winemakers that dates back to the 13th century making it one of the oldest Estates in Tuscany. Current custodian of the Corsini Empire is 22nd generation Duccio Corsini.
Produced from 95% Sangiovese and 5% Colorino the wine was matured for 12 months primarily in cement vats with a small proportion in old oak casks. Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Fragrant violet top notes overlay blackcurrant and dark cherry scents with earthy tobacco and spicy dried herb notes ensuing. Medium bodied this beautifully balanced Chianti Classico showcases the richness of the superb 2018 vintage offering up blackcurrant and dark cherry flavours with an undercard of earth, light tobacco and spicy dried herbs on the savoury finish. Lively acidity with slightly dusty tannins providing a sense of rusticity to the feel. Long blackcurrant, dark cherry, earthy tobacco and spicy dried herb aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
