Mountford Hommage

This single vineyard is grown on the steepest north west facing slopes on the estate, which are rich  in active limestone.  The four noble varieties of Alsace; Gewurztraminer, Muscat, Pinot Gris and Riesling are planted and picked side-by-side.  Handpicked in one day, Vin de terroir is the style.  Crisp and clean nose with aromas of kerosine and citrus from the Riesling with underlying notes of Christmas lillies, pear and stone fruits from the Muscat and Pinot Gris. On the palate, the wine has honeycomb, citrus and an array of fresh herbs finished with a clean balanced acidity. Balanced and round, and while there is a perceived sweetness to this wine, it is fermented dry.
