Martagona Refosco dal Peduncola Rosso

A variety indgenous to this north-east corner of Italy, Refosco is characterised by a vinous-fruity aroma, with distinct notes of blackberry, blueberry, and wild berries. Firm and full on the palate, with meaty tannins and a pleasantly savoury finish. A true grape of the region, and not found widely outside it's homeland. Full of northern Italian character, with an appealing countryside rusticity and a slightly Alpine air. This wine pairs well with rich meats, sauces and game. Perfect with grilled meats such as venison.
