The 'love-child' if you will, of Valpolicella and Amarone, the Ripasso style provides a wine of depth and concentration whilst still delivering a refreshing style. Full-bodied and intense Venetian red wine, aged 18 months in Slavonian oak barrels and barriques. The bouquet has attractive notes of blackcurrant, red fruit, cinnamon, tobacco, against an anise background. Smooth tannins give a structured yet supple mouthfeel, with sour cherry, plum, and dark chocolate notes. Great with stews, steaks, lamb shank and BBQ pork loin.
