In 1990, Philibert Perrin bought nearby plots of land that used to be part of Montesquieu’s estate (Montesquieu was a famous writer-philosopher in the 18th Century). He undertook a clearing program that uncovered an abandoned washhouse called Menaut Fountain, which gave its name to our Château Lafont-Menaut wine.
Over the years, Philibert Perrin has planted 15 ha of red vineyards (Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) and 3.5 ha of white (Sauvignon) in Martillac, just 15 km away from Bordeaux, in the very heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation and succeeded in bringing back to life that ancient and forgotten vineyard. Their exquisite red and white wines now feature in our range for their excellence and value.
This, the blanc, shows an alluring prettiness; floral tones and waxy notes and an inviting freshness of just-cut grass and sweet hay. Breadth and body on the palate shows ageabilty and leaves a full palate experience. Long and lingering finish.
