The Ballands have been making wines in the Loire since 1650 and Emile's father was instrumental in achieving recognition for the AOC Coteaux du Giennois. The region was only established as an official AOC wine region in 1998—although wine has been made here for centuries. Being small, and relatively unknown it goes under the radar compared to it’s famous neighbours Pouilly Fume and Sancerre, which means it has some great value Sauvignon Blancs.
Really vibrant gooseberry and grassy aromas. The palate is rich with lime and grapefruit flavours with a mineral edge reminiscent of great Pouilly Fume. Very refreshing and excellent value.
