Special Cuvée is the result of a masterful blending using a majority of Reserve wines, including some aged for more than 15 years in Bollinger’s cellars. In 1911, Bollinger’s British agent gave the idea for the name Special Cuvée - “special” written the English way, without an accent. He thought the French expression “Brut sans année” was no match for such a subtle champagne… More than a hundred years later, the name of Bollinger’s key figure champagne still symbolizes both its expertise and its history. A golden colour with a beautifully fine mousse. The nose is aromatic and complex with ripe fruit and spicy aromas. Roasted apples, apple compote and peaches burst on the palate. Brioche and notes of fresh walnut linger on the lasting finish. A subtle combination of structure, length and vivacity.

This top quality sparkling wine from the Loire valley is certainly one that should be taken seriously. Langlois-Château is part of the Bollinger Champagne stable and they bring all of their expertise to help make this a distinctive sparkling wine. Chenin Blanc - a mainstay variety of the Loire Valley - is the dominant variety used in the blend along with about 20% each of Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc. It has a delicate mousse and a complex nose mixing different fruits such as quince, peach and grapefruit which lead to a lovely honeyed palate and a fresh and delicate finish. Made in the classic Champagne Method, giving complexity and richness to to the palate and toasty brioche notes.
