Primitivo, Zinfandel, Kratosija.. Same grape, different names. This grape actualy originates from eastern Europe, where it is now seeing a revival. This fantatstic example really delivers on flavour and character; intense red and black fruits, moderate tannins and a soft yet full body. Works eqaully well fireside or lightly chilled. One of our favourites in this price catergory.
Cool climate Chardonnay from Patagonia. Crisp with plenty of minerality. With Chablis prices getting more and more expensive this is a great alternative.
Turkey Flat Vineyard
Turkey Flat Butchers Block
A thrilling wine that leaps from the glass with instant rapport. Layers of spice, dark plum, cassis and berry fruit adorn the palate - pleasantly held by an oaky embrace. To be shared, to be enjoyed.
Adobe Reserva Gewurztraminer ORGANIC
A dry Gewurztraminer from Chile's Rapel Valley. Dry yet rounded, with lychee and green pear notes over jasmine and ginger aromas. Mandarin orange and ripe grapefruit on the palate make for good complexity and depth. A great partner to Asian cuisine such as Crispy Aromatic Duck or Thai Green Curry.
Most of the wine from this region is red, but this lively blend shows that the whites are up to the mark as well. It has complex aromatic aromas of fresh herbs, peach and honeydew melon lead onto a juicy and layered palate. Well balanced with good fruit intensity - quite a bit of wine for the money here. An ideal aperitif, also good with seafood and pasta.
Casa de Vila Nova
Vila Nova Vinho Verde
Vila Nova Vinho Verde was awarded Best Vinho Verde of Portugal 2017. This refreshing blend of Loureiro, Avesso and Arinto is produced on the Lencastre family’s historic estate. Floral, citrus aromas lead on to a palate with more bright citrus acidity and a lingering finish. A slight spritz makes it refreshing and lively and very easy to drink (preferably on a sun-lounger!)
Picpoul de Pinet Belardent
A fantastic wine from ther Languedoc, the Picpoul grapes for Belardent sourced from from some of the oldest vines in the Thau region. A crisp, dry, yet aromatic and concentrated wine; perfect for sunny afternoons in the garden, or as an alternative to Sauvignon blanc. Very crowd-pleasing and winner of Decanter Award as Outstanding in its catergory. We think so too!
