Adobe Reserva Merlot 2018, Rapel Valley Chile
This excellent producer recently won a place as one of the worlds most admired wine brands for its organic and sustainable wine practices, including its social responsibility ethics. The wine itself delivers a soft and delicious expression of the Merlot grape – red plums and cherries, with gentle spice and supple tannins all wrapped up in a very easy drinking style. Doing your bit for the planet never tasted so good!
Grenache and Cinsault blend from the sunny Pays d'Oc. Fruit-forward and rounded, with surprising texture and concentration for a rose at this price point. We worked hard to find it! Strawberry and spice, with a lengthy finish. A great aperitif, but equally good for sunny lunches.
Senorio de Sarria
Senorio de Sarria Crianza, Navarra
From the Navarra region, right next to Rioja, this is a deep and rewarding blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, alongside Spanish grapes Garnacha and Graciano. Like Rioja, but with more structure and black fruit flavours. One of our bestselling sub £10 wines - a brilliant all-rounder.
Monte da Ravasqueira
Guarda Rios Tinto, Alentejano, Portugal
A lovely, full bodied and satisfying wine from a blend of regional varieties. From the Aletejano region of southern Portugal, known for its elegant yet powerful wines. Makes a great partner to sausage and lentils, or roasted game birds.
Tenuta il Cascinone
Crocera Barbera d'Asti Superiore
Aromas of intense ripe damson and black cherry with a hint of spice. Ripe and generous on the palate, robust and full-flavoured with intense plum and sour cherry fruit, balanced by tangy, juicy acidity, leading to a moreish finish.
La Luna Gaia Pinot Grigio
Pinot grigio can be SO dull - we were delighted to find this expressive and extremely drinkable offering. Good value and great quality is a must for such a staple - this is both, and then some!
Il Folle Nero d'Avola, Sicily. ORGANIC
A gorgeous, medium-bodied Nero d'Avola, bursting with blackberry liqueur and vanilla aromatics, alongside rustic hedgerow fruits and smokey undertones. Bold and sunny - like the Sicilians themselves.
